Sr. Technical Project Manager

Minneapolis / Hybrid
Full-Time Salaried

Position Purpose:

Our Senior Technical Project Manager is an experienced project professional that will lead Folklore’s digital teams in creating the stunning work we are known for. Our project managers have a passion for team leadership and are masters at successful project delivery. This role will be responsible for the success of one or more projects within a given timeline and budget, the creation and maintenance of status reports, proactive management of issues and risks, and effective collaboration with third party partners. They will lead scoping, structuring, and project coordination and will support task execution at all levels. When performing financial/budgeting activities, they monitor and adjust to given budgets, track labor, resources, and support variance root cause analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
80% Delivery & Execution

– Directs the development of Folklore’s digital products, including website builds and optimization, interactive tools and custom solution builds
– Understands organizational/initiative goals and the success criteria to apply to project work– Partners with stakeholders to lead the project planning effort, including scoping, definition of deliverables, creation of a logical work breakdown structure and definition of major project milestones
– Proactively identifies barriers to successful outcomes and partners with leadership teams to overcome them
– Creates, monitors, tracks, and adjusts project plans based on critical milestones
– Deep experience in Agile, Waterfall, or other delivery methodologies in order to identify and blend methods for efficient delivery
– Supports and executes against quarterly planning and prioritization
– Strong communication at various levels of the organization (within the team as well as with senior leadership) to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical
– Works with stakeholders/clients to determine and align dependencies, identify and track compliance requirements, then proactively manage risk and issues via identification and mitigation plans
– Develops and executes an effective plan for both change management and communication to project teams and stakeholders
– Assists the Client Service team in building proposals and expanding client relationships
– Applies lessons learned to inform future initiatives

20% Resource & Financial Management:

Executes and leads fiscal management and reporting for operational, product/business, technology and vendor stakeholders; includes gross labor, capital spend and non-labor forecasting for tracking, reporting and variance analysis.

Reporting Structure:

– This position reports to the CEO
– This position has one direct report, with expansion of this team in 2023 and beyond

Working Conditions:

Folklore has an office that is available 24/7. We require two days in-office and three days remote (WFH)

Minimum Qualifications:

– Must have 10+ years of experience in project management with 5+ years in development and technical project management
– Prior experience working with User Experience, Visual Design and Development teams

Preferred Qualifications:

– Experience in enterprise level CMS development projects
– Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) experience is a plus
– Strong working knowledge of the development lifecycle
– Familiarity with integrations and 3rd party solutions
– Working knowledge of Jira and Monday project management software
– Working knowledge of presentation software (e.g., Keynote and Google Slides)
– Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
– Ability to draw accurate conclusions from financial documentation
– Ability to convey complex or technical ideas and processes in easy-to-understand terms to diverse audiences
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Agency experience (or in-house) partner with strong Strategy and Account teams
– At least one year of experience leading a team of 2 or more people
